DALLAS, TEXAS (JUNE 26, 2009) – Two of ©alise and Sedei’s broadcast commercials for Taco Cabana’s “Great State of Cabana” campaign each have won 2009 Bronze Telly Awards.
The winning advertisements, entitled “Attention” and “Tickets,” are part of “The Great State of Cabana,” a branding campaign that Taco Cabana launched in January 2009.
Taco Cabana is a 155-unit Mexican restaurant chain based in San Antonio that is widely recognized for its great-tasting Mexican food, real tequila margaritas, and sizzling fajitas. The premise of the “Great State of Cabana” campaign is to leverage Taco Cabana’s position between fast food and sit-down dining, and to communicate that Taco Cabana is not just a place; it is a state of mind.
Established in 1978, the Telly Awards recognize creative work in local and regional /multimarket television and cable, outdoor, online video, and film/video categories, and previous winners judge each annual competition.1 Advertising agencies and production companies across the globe compete for the chance to win a Telly Awards; the 2008 competition attracted 50,000 entries from every U.S. state and five continents.
